Teatro del Silenzio is a natural amphitheatre immersed in the tuscan countryside. It is located in the little village of Lajatico, surrounded by hills and in short distance from Volterra.

It is a open-air theatre that once a year hosts a big event organised by Andrea Bocelli and his foundation. It can be defined as a natural stage decorated only by few sculptures that change every year.

Infos about 2020 edition

The fifteenth edition of the Teatro Del Silenzio is on  July 24th  and 26th 2020 at 8:30 p.m.

City Sound & Events recommends buying tickets only in the authorized resales that are: Vivaticket, City Sound and the info point in Lajatico.

You can buy tickets on Viva Ticket official website.  Some tickets still available for 26th July.

We suggest to stay some days after the day of the event as it may be postponed for bad weather conditions as it happened in 2019.

How to get to Teatro del Silenzio

The best way to get to Teatro del Silenzio is by car, driving through a road named S439 Sarzanese Valdera that leads to Volterra. The public transport of the area is very poor and there are no special buses for the event departing from nearby villages.

We strongly reccomend to go there by car, your own or one from the rental company, or using a private transfer. Sometimes hotels provide it for a price that is much more convenient than the one offered by taxi.

You should ask your hotel if there is a private transfer available for the event. Casale Le Torri offers a very convenient transfer to its guests.

Or you can contact a local tour operator, called Arianna and Friends, that can provide you a transfer to the event and back departing from different place in Tuscany.

Coming by airplane, you should choose Pisa Airport. Travelling by train, you should stop at Pontedera-Casciana Terme coming from Florence or Pisa.

Where to park

During the event, Lajatico is closed to traffic. Only residents, licensed cars and buses, police and ambulances hace access to the village. Our transfer service is allowed to get to Lajatico and we usually stop before a pedestrian area that is 10 minutes walking to the concert area.

° For all visitors owning tickets of sectors B - Poltronissima, C – Prima Poltrona, D – Seconda Poltrona, E – Poltroncina and Tribuna Non-Numerata

There are two parking lots in Lajatico. The first one is in an area called La Sterza at "Ristorante Da Pasquino" where you can leave the car and then take the shuttle to the concert area. This is the biggest parking area and it usually opens at 3 p.m.

The second one is called Poggio al Lupo and it is closer to the concert area , only 300 mt far from it, but it usually get crowded very soon. From Statale 439 you can take Strada San Giovanni to Lajatico.

° For all visitor owning sector A – Executive

There is a special parking lot, which is located only 100 mt far from the concert area, for people who have purchased an Executive Ticket. From Road 439 take Strada della Mandriola. At the end of the road, after 1,5 km, you'll find the parking lot and dedicated staff. It usually opens at 3 p.m.

What about the entry for people with disabilities

Persons with disabilities can access with their own car to the executive parking, mentioned in the previous paragraph, from 4 p.m. At the entry they will have to show the ticket and the confirmation mail sent by City Sound which confirms their seats in a special area of the theatre dedicated to them. You should contact them to book this service.

From the parking lot, persons with disabilities will be moved to the reserved area by a vehicle provided by the staff.

Ticket Office

Ticket office is located in La Sterza, before Lajatico, just inside the parking lot of the restaurant Da Pasquino.

The Vivaticket voucher must be changed with the entry ticket at the ticket office. You should show your passport or id and the order confirmation.

Some more tips to enjoy Teatro del Silenzio

In Lajatico you'll find several options to eat something before joining the event. There are some food stalls just near the entrace, but there could be the queue. In the center of the village, you can also find some restaurants. We reccomend to make a reservation as soon as possibile. You can also bring your own food.

- We usually suggest our guests to bring a sweater or a jacket because sometimes it can be a little bit cold and wet as the area is fully immersed in the countryside.

 - Coming back from the concert can take a long time as all the cars are driving back on the same road.
